Hoping to come to TT in '11

Do 23 Sep, 2010 11:02

Hello!
first, I apologize, as mein Deutsch ist klein!

My name is Doug, I live in Alabama USA in the winter, & travel in the summer. I've done a couple trips around the world on old bikes (Indian & Harley)
I also have a cafe/hotel for bikers in Bulgaria

www.motosapiens.org

I was told about the TT from Nanno, and would really like to come to the next one, as I have never ridden in the alps in the winter.

OK, I have never even CONSIDERED riding in the alps in the winter, but it sounds like alot of fun, and I enjoy that your meeting is not a drunkfest as many of them seem to be.

Anyhow, I thought it would be good to introduce myself, as I will apply for an invitation when it becomes available.

I dont know what bike I will ride yet, as I will have to buy/rent something before february.
I am going to build a sportster offroad bike to try the road of bones to magadan, russia next summer, so if that is done in time, maybe I will just ship that over.....
but it depends on if it is done!

Danke! Doug

this is the google translation, so if is not too good, blame them

:-D

Danke! Doug

Applications for the TT are getting quite international: Last year lots of French people, this year even someone from Transatlantica. Wow!

And hello to Doug!

Hi Doug
No need of google-translations. Just if you want to make us smile.
Riding a bike in Winter in the alps is a lot of fun, and you wont find a better company doing that, than the members of the AiA and their friends. If your sporty will be ready, I would like to see it on the hill. It could inspire me to make kind of a winter-cafe-racer from my old sporty. If you are not ready with the bike, I invite you to take one of my bikes for the tour to TT. I have allways some bikes more here, than I am able to ride at a time....
cheers

Hey Andreas,
wow, I guess I know a few people on this board!
I'd love to ride the russian bitch in the mountains. however, riding it from Bulgaria to Austria.... not so much!

Hey Fleisspelz
thanks for the offer!
I really like the flathead in the picture, can I ride that one?

just kidding.... But thank you, and if I cant finish the sporty in time, or find a cheap outfit to buy, I may take you up on that.

I really wanna come to the TT, my girlfriend already said I was crazy, & she was going to stay home, so THAT part is taken care of!
hahaha

Doug

MZ ist kaput! hehehe

ah yes, the border autobahn between Georgia & Turkey.

hahaha

I guess everyone here knows me from ADVrider?

jeez, now I'll NEVER get invited to the TT!

Why don't you just put some new Duros on your harley and just use the current bike for the TT ?
(Considering how far you got with it until now... this shouldn't be too hard and you have a solid basis to start from!)

Cheers,
Greg

Nano's got a point here - and havent you got an interesting bike, too, lately in Bulgaria ?
Stop joking -the Harley with good Staudacher chains -which the forum would organize for you- could very well do it.
Your new Ural might need to much attention to get her ready on your timeframe.

Off course the sporty would be really interesting - you might start a trend there

BTW. :
seems like some Asians from the other side of the Bosporus want to come, too

Just be aware Doug,
once you start coming to the TT,you will want to come back time and time again :-D,its a snow thing :-D,look forward to a beer with you
